Prague, Czech Republic - 2026

After moving to Europe, a Pokémon Regional Championship in Prague felt like the perfect excuse to visit a city I'd been curious about while reconnecting with friends from my competitive days. I didn't actually play in the tournament. Instead, I spent my time exploring the city's tourist sights, catching up with Rahul and Mustafa who had flown in from the US, and meeting up with Robin, a fellow solo traveler I had randomly crossed paths with in Slovakia who happened to live in Prague. The biggest surprise came when I bumped into Robin Schultz, an old friend from my Pokémon years, completely by chance while walking through the city center. We spent the day together on Saturday, and Sunday rounded out the trip with Nico, Robin, and Tord. Prague is a genuinely beautiful city, and it was one of those trips where the mix of familiar faces, happy coincidences, and good company made everything click.
