Warsaw & Kraków, Poland - 2026

Poland wasn't originally on my radar until I met Natalia at my friend Charlie's 24th birthday. She's from Poland and insisted I visit Gdańsk. Flights didn't work out for the May bank holiday weekend, but the inspiration stuck, so I booked three days in Warsaw instead. I landed at 11pm on a Friday and on the hour-long bus into the city center, I met Diana, a Kazakh woman living in Russia who had ended up in Warsaw when she meant to be in Kraków. We hit it off immediately and went our separate ways into the city. The next morning I met Mark, an American from Kansas City, over coffee before heading out to see the sights and try pierogies for the first time. I also met Anthony, who is from Lebanon and living in France. Later that day I messaged Diana to say it was great meeting her, only to find out she was still in Warsaw and before I knew it, she was suggesting I come to Kraków to explore. Embracing the spirit of the trip, I booked a bus for the next morning and headed to a completely different city three hours away, where I spent the day with Diana and made even more new friends. Poland turned out to be one of those trips where saying yes to everything made all the difference and I can’t wait to go back!
