Brighton / Seaford, England - 2026

I met Louise and Moni shortly after moving to London, and they're exactly the kind of people who say yes to a spontaneous plan. Midweek, I proposed we go so anywhere, Edinburgh, France, Birmingham, it didn't matter as long as we get out of the city. I remembered Henry, the first non-work person I met in London, who had grown up in Brighton and couldn't stop raving about it, so Brighton it was. The three of us took the train from Blackfriars, grabbed some Greek food, and ordered an Uber to our Airbnb only to discover the ride would take an hour. Louise had accidentally booked it in Seaford, a small town near the Seven Sisters cliffs. We gave her grief about it all weekend, but honestly it couldn't have worked out better. Seaford turned out to be a gem. We met locals, ate incredible fish and chips, beach runs, and long coastal walks. It was the perfect first trip outside of London and a great reminder that the best experiences often come from happy accidents.
